Introduction

Hi everyone!

My name is Winter and I am going into my last year of university. I am majoring in Economics with a Business minor and a Finance option, and I plan to graduate next year in the Spring.

I was born in Vietnam, where I spoke Vietnamese and French. Later, I moved to the East Coast of Canada, and that is where English became my third language. Eventually, I moved to Victoria for university because I love the island’s weather and the beach.

My favorite academic subject is anything related to writing. Writing comes more naturally to me than math, and I’m often the one my friends and roommates turn to when they need help drafting important emails.

You can usually spot me working at Vikes events. I’m often at UVic basketball, soccer, and rugby games.

Outside of academics, I love vintage clothing and thrifting. I recently bought a sewing machine and plan to start thrift-flip projects this summer. I also enjoy climbing, which keeps me active in a way that feels fun and challenging, even though I don’t really enjoy the gym. Another passion of mine is taking photos. My brother is a photographer, and I love taking pictures with the old cameras he passes down to me.

This past year, I’ve been traveling in Vietnam, reconnecting with my roots and exploring new places.

In terms of multimedia in education, I’ve used it in my Behavioral Management course, where I created a video on business structure improvement, and in my Marketing class, where I worked on a group project analyzing business marketing strategies through video. These experiences showed me how multimedia can make academic projects more engaging and effective.

Through this course, I hope to learn how to integrate multimedia more effectively into education, so that content can be both informative and exciting.

  1. Hi Winter, that’s so exciting that it’s your last year! Congratulations! You can speak three language, impressive. I am trying to pick up a second language but unfortunately it’s not going well. I blame it on my more math brain. Looks beautiful in Vietnam, I plan to travel there once I graduate.
I look forward to working with you this term!
